Our team is based out of the trendy SoHo district in New York City, and we offer the option of partial or full remote work depending on the role. We are currently in search of an enthusiastic and self-driven engineer who will assist us in developing the next generation of financial products.
As a dedicated front-end hire, you will have the responsibility of owning our existing suite of web-based products. Additionally, you will be granted the ability to influence the design, creation, and implementation of future products. Your main responsibility will be to ensure consistency in the quality of the user experience across all trading interfaces, and analytics pages that are heavy in data, documentation portals, and other areas.

Responsibilities:
The following are the responsibilities of the frontend engineer at Uniswap Labs:
- Develop a comprehensive component library for all Uniswap products, resulting in a uniform and consistent user experience.
- Quickly and accurately implement functional UI elements from design mocks, focusing on performance and accessibility.
- Determine when to create abstractions versus one-off features to increase efficiency and maintainability.
- Ensure that the components are not only functional but also elegant, performant, and compatible with mobile devices.
- Have a clear understanding of when and how to perform UI tests to guarantee the quality of the product.

Requirements:
- A Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering expertise is essential for the position.
- A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in React, a popular JavaScript library for building user interfaces, is required.
- A comprehensive knowledge of modern client-side React application architecture is expected.
- Experience in collaborating with component libraries or design teams in creating user-facing applications is preferred.
- An enthusiasm for staying up-to-date with the latest and most effective web development practices is necessary.
Desirable Qualifications:
Having prior experience in designing a system or a library of components is highly preferred. Moreover, it would be beneficial to have familiarity with the web3 frontend stack, which includes ethers.js/web3.js, EIP-1193, client-side private key management, etc. Additionally, proficiency with React Hooks and TypeScript in React is also desirable. A degree in computer science would be an added advantage.
