At Protocol Security, we are dedicated to ensuring the security of all blockchain developments at Coinbase. We work closely with product teams to guarantee that our users can engage with the blockchain world safely and securely.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Expand and formalize our Blockchain Security program to transition towards continuous and ongoing risk assessment for our blockchain products.
- Develop strategies for blockchain security and conduct security assessments and threat modeling of various blockchain protocols.
- Take the lead in identifying top blockchain security risks and devising strategies to address them proactively and comprehensively.
- Offer expert technical guidance to the team in developing new frameworks, analysis tools, and security products.
- Pioneer the establishment of best practices and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure their adoption.
- Coach and mentor members of the Protocol Security team to develop new skills and stay abreast of advancements in crypto.
- Guide Protocol Security to the forefront of security technologies for blockchain protocols and contribute to setting industry standards.
What We Look for in You:
- Extensive knowledge of blockchain ecosystems, including the intricacies of L1 and L2 networks, DeFi protocols, staking, etc.
- Proficiency in identifying vulnerabilities at machine-level, transaction-level, and business logic-level in smart contracts and protocol infrastructure.
- At least 5 years of experience in auditing smart contracts, having led audits of numerous complex protocols.
- A passion for continuous learning, as the crypto space is ever-evolving and dynamic.
- A dedication to mentoring and nurturing blockchain security engineers, coupled with a willingness to learn from your team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, directly, and kindly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in building relationships with security, product, and engineering teams. Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term tactical planning.
Pay Transparency Notice:
The target annual salary for this position may vary depending on your work location and can range between $211,650 and $249,000 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase include target bonuses and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) contributions.
