About ConsenSys
Our goal is to democratize Web3, making it accessible and easy to use for all, while revolutionizing society for the better. Consensys offers you the opportunity to be at the forefront of this transformative movement, as we believe blockchain technology holds the key to building a more equitable world.
Blockchain is still in its early stages, with Ethereum itself in its infancy, offering immense potential yet to be fully realized. Joining us means working on cutting-edge tools, infrastructure, and applications that aim to scale these platforms to serve billions of users. At Consensys, you’ll be part of a dynamic network of entrepreneurs and technologists, challenging yourself with new concepts and ideas while contributing to projects that push the boundaries of our ecosystem.
Infura Overview:
Infura stands as the premier infrastructure platform, offering scalable and user-friendly APIs and cloud solutions tailored for blockchain and decentralized application developers. Our platform currently supports APIs for Ethereum, IPFS, and other major decentralized networks, enabling developers to dive into building projects without the hassle of setting up and maintaining their own infrastructure.
We provide developers with immediate access to decentralized and blockchain networks, eliminating the need to synchronize or comprehend complex peer-to-peer infrastructure. Much like accessing a cloud service to streamline proprietary computing and storage, Infura simplifies the process, reducing barriers for engineers to initiate their projects.
Our vision revolves around fostering a fairer and more decentralized future, with developers leading the charge. We aim to empower developers to focus on building, innovating, and evolving by offering them the most efficient and straightforward infrastructure solution.
A few key points about the Infura team: we operate as a remote-first company, with team members dispersed globally. We prioritize minimizing meetings, respecting work-life balance, promoting diversity, and embodying positive values. Our success hinges on collaboration and mutual support among team members, driving us towards shared achievements.
Your Responsibilities:
Join a top-tier infrastructure and tools team dedicated to core Infura engineering projects. Infura is committed to delivering and maintaining a high-performance service accessible worldwide, supported by modern tools and methodologies that ensure our developers’ safety and efficiency.
- As a reliability engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing tooling for test automation, infrastructure as code, single pane of glass observability, Kubernetes, and execution tracing.
- Reliability engineers are essential in assisting our SRE teams, engineering teams, and testing teams in efficiently managing and securing infrastructure.
- Your focus will include security, platform engineering, and strategic capacity planning, all critical components of reliability engineering.
- A comprehensive understanding of traditional virtual server infrastructure, containerized workloads, and modern serverless architectures is essential for this role.
We utilize a variety of tools and technologies, including infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, EKS, and ECS, event-driven architectures like Kinesis and Kafka, frontend applications like React and Node.js, both relational and NoSQL databases like Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB, Linux-based operating systems, as well as blockchain and DLT technologies.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a DevOps, system operations, or SRE role.
- Extensive proficiency in troubleshooting, debugging, and working with microservices, Cloud Native, or Kubernetes/EKS.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/EKS and associated components used for running k8s (such as karpenter, kyverno, promtail, prometheus, etc).
- Familiarity with one or more Infrastructure as Code frameworks, such as Terraform or Amazon CDK.
- Given that Infura operates cloud-based systems, substantial experience with one or more cloud providers (with preference for AWS) is desirable.
If you don’t meet all the requirements, don’t worry. We’re dedicated to assembling a diverse team, so if you believe you have the necessary skills for our dynamic, remote-friendly startup environment, we encourage you to apply. Feel free to elaborate on your relevant transferable skills in your cover letter. While we have a good idea of what we’re looking for, we’re open to your perspective on who would excel in this role.
