Job Summary:

As a Blockchain Protocol Architect, you will directly report to the SVP of Protocol Research and Development. Serving as a senior technical leader, you will offer technical, architectural, and implementation oversight across all core protocol teams and functions, including proof-of-stake (PoS), Supernets, and zkEVM roll-ups. Working closely with senior engineers on the core protocol teams, you will implement improvements using best-practice methodologies and drive deployment to production systems through our diverse ecosystem. Your role will grant you high visibility both within and outside the organization as a recognized protocol expert and visionary.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Identify, cultivate, and explore innovative research and distinctive methodologies to address significant challenges related to scalability, security, and robustness in core protocols on a large scale.
Engage in requirements gathering and discussions with product leaders and executives across the organization.
Collaborate regularly with developers on core protocol teams, offering design and architecture brainstorming, conducting code reviews, promoting best-practice development methods, contributing to solution development, and providing high-level engineering oversight.
Occasionally, develop and deliver code to offer solutions to the most complex problems or showcase a new and innovative approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive and proven expertise in Ethereum, related technologies, rollup protocols, including a deep understanding of their trade-offs, scalability challenges, and potential attack vectors.
Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages, with a minimum requirement of Go. Rust proficiency is highly desirable.
In-depth familiarity and hands-on experience in distributed systems engineering, protocols, and architecture.
A minimum of 8+ years of senior development experience, with at least 3 years in the blockchain or cryptography industry.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing less-experienced engineers.
Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, independent start-up-like environment.
