The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for:

Extending Circle’s in-house blockchain systems infrastructure to support global tokenization.
Analyzing requirements, procedures, and problems to improve and modify existing systems.
Building and owning scalable microservices for reliable and secure APIs that transfer value and assets across blockchain and traditional banking protocols.
Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to design, test, and shape Circle features, including system design procedures, testing procedures, and quality standards.
Troubleshooting program and system malfunctions to restore normal functionality.
Building publicly accessible APIs to simplify developer integration with complex payment systems.
Integrating Platform Services with leading banks and financial technologies.
Consulting with management to ensure alignment on system principles.
Writing infrastructure for delivering exceptional payment experiences, including data sources (SQL or NoSQL), messaging systems, and APIs.
Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience in object-oriented languages like Go or Java.
A Computer Science degree or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
Technical leadership experience with teams larger than four members on architecture and system design.
Expertise in one of the following domains: API design, payment processing, or blockchains.
Deep understanding and experience with:
- Architecture, design, and deployment of production-quality, scalable software.
- Web3, blockchain, and smart contract business logic.
- RESTful API design and development principles.
- Cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
- Container orchestration systems like Kubernetes, EKS, or ECS.
- SQL databases and schema design.
Strong focus on coding standards and code quality, with a desire for great test coverage to enable continuous delivery.
Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with remote teams, share ideas, and present concepts effectively.
A self-starter with a curious mindset, enjoying fast-paced environments, improving user experiences, and constantly refining your work with little supervision.
