About the Protocols Team:

Within Consensys, the Protocols team oversees a variety of products and projects that bolster the Ethereum ecosystem. In collaboration with Java open-source communities, we are actively advancing Ethereum core clients like Hyperledger Besu (execution client) and Teku (consensus client).

Both Besu and Teku can be utilized independently or in tandem to engage with the Ethereum Mainnet, catering to solo traders and institutional stakers alike. Teku encompasses a comprehensive beacon node implementation and a validator client designed for participation in proof of stake consensus, while Besu facilitates the transaction execution layer and state management.

We are currently seeking a Senior Blockchain Protocol Engineer to join both the Besu and Teku teams!

Your Responsibilities:

As a Senior Blockchain Protocol Engineer, you will be an integral part of a close-knit team dedicated to shaping the future of Ethereum through core blockchain technologies. Leveraging your Java proficiency, you will contribute to designing distributed systems and developing large-scale, highly available software.

Collaborating with the global Ethereum community, including researchers, engineers, and product owners, you will play a pivotal role in constructing next-generation networks. This position presents an opportunity for continuous learning and growth within a talented team, offering abundant challenges in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Java programming
Understanding of object-oriented design principles
Familiarity with blockchain technology
Interest in applied cryptography
Collaborative nature with a willingness to give and receive feedback
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Comfortable operating in an Agile environment and navigating uncertainty and ambiguity
