Join Our Team: Senior Data Scientist Position
Nethermind is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Data Scientist to contribute innovative data science solutions to the Forta ecosystem. This role involves analyzing blockchain attack data, devising data science solutions to understand attacks, predict potential threats, and assist in handling alerts. The selected candidate will actively engage with the wider data science and academic research community, fostering innovation through prototyping, educational content creation, research papers and blog posts, data curation, and participation in data science competitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing blockchain and attack data.
- Prototyping diverse models, from supervised to unsupervised, for attack detection, alert ranking, and providing context to alert data.
- Empowering the data science community to safeguard web3 through activities like data set curation, prototyping, and contest preparation.
- Collaborating with the data science and engineering community to enhance Forta Network’s data science and machine learning capabilities.
- Steering a research agenda with the data science and academic research community through RFPs and regular community calls.
- Educating the broader community on data science approaches to web3 through various mediums such as research papers, blog posts, conference talks, and social media presentations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, Anomaly Detection, Clustering, Time Series Analysis, and related areas.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with scripting languages (e.g., R).
- Familiarity with libraries like Pandas, Keras, Pytorch, Scikit-learn for building ML models.
- Detail-oriented, self-disciplined, and results-driven.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and collaborate with geographically distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics.
- Passion and/or experience in open-source, cybersecurity, or a similar highly technical industry (preferred).
- Technical knowledge of blockchain, DeFi, and the Ethereum ecosystem (preferred).
