Where You Will Fit In:

We are seeking a Head of Developer Relations (DevRel) for Holochain. The mission of DevRel at Holochain is to cultivate engaged communities, with a focus on developers contributing to the Holochain ecosystem.

DevRel at Holochain targets two different audiences: current and potential Holochain commercial projects and open-source software (OSS) developers building on the Holochain framework. The role involves facilitating trial use, adoption, and development of best practices for the framework and tooling, primarily focusing on open source. The goal is to build communities around open-source technologies, fostering advocacy for their use in building the future web.

Skills and Experience:

Grow and nurture thriving OSS communities around Holochain, creating external champions that talk about Holochain and our OSS offerings. Develop initiatives like Communities in Action, Holochain Solution/Flagship/Research Partners, Holochain Beacons, and a Certified Developer Program.

Goals include:

• Enable local developer/project communities to grow and thrive.
• Establish partnerships with dev shops, labs, and universities to teach the benefits of distributed tech and Holochain.
• Establish Holochain as the go-to tech infrastructure for P2P applications in the open-source world.
• Build a network of experts sharing knowledge and teaching developers about the Holochain ecosystem.

Curate and deliver thought leadership through high-quality content (blogs, talks, videos, AMAs, technical documentation) to establish Holochain in the distributed infrastructure space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attract, engage, and coach world-class community developer advocates.
• Scale internal and external teams at a growth startup with open-source technologies.
• Develop broad advocacy and influence in developer communities.
• Develop programs from concept to implementation in a widely distributed and relatively loosely managed environment.

Needed Skills:

• Experience leading and scaling DevRel in a complex technical domain.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams with high velocity and quality.
• Ability to build advocacy and influence in developer communities.
• Technical background, preferably with distributed systems and/or crypto and experience working with open-source software.
• Experience creating and launching new programs and campaigns within developer communities.

Desired Background or Capacities:

• Comfort working cross-functionally with engineering, bizdev, and marketing.
• Ability to understand product and customer personas.
• Comfort and ability to create from your own and other people’s vision.
• Capable of sense-making and creating coherence with a diverse team.
