Job Summary

In the role of Senior React Engineer at BitMEX, you will be an experienced engineer responsible for designing and implementing high-performance, real-time web applications using React.JS. BitMEX’s platform is meticulously optimized for speed and responsiveness. To excel in this position, you should either have prior experience working on a trading platform or be a user of derivatives exchanges like BitMEX or its competitors. You should also possess a strong interest in the Bitcoin industry and hold significant professional expertise in React, along with a genuine passion for advancing your engineering skills within this platform.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will encompass:

1. Developing the BitMEX Web Frontend and React Native components.
2. Working independently and collaborating across teams and various skill sets to deliver products to end users.
3. Participating in new feature design and implementation, bug fixing, and fine-tuning for optimal performance.
4. Close collaboration with the API and Engine teams to seamlessly integrate new features and innovative consumer-facing products.
5. Mentoring other engineers, sharing coding best practices, design principles, and fostering engineering excellence.
6. Exploring and assessing new stack components and architectural concepts as needed.
7. Regularly reviewing code to maintain code quality and consistency.

Requirements

The qualifications and skills we are looking for include:

1. Profound understanding of JavaScript and its performance characteristics.
2. Experience with NodeJS, React, and the Flux architecture.
3. Proficiency in Jest, Flow, Webpack, Make, and Sass is a valuable addition.
4. Proven experience in making complex, data-driven products accessible to end consumers.
5. Ability to work on multiple product concepts concurrently.
6. Familiarity with contemporary UX trends and a curiosity for emerging UX concepts, such as conversational UI.
7. Experience with trading derivatives products, preferably in the context of Bitcoin derivatives.
8. A deep understanding of Bitcoin’s value proposition and a willingness to receive compensation in Bitcoin.
