If you’ve ever strolled through a city with me over the past decade, you’re likely familiar with how I often halt to snap peculiar things I find around us. This peculiar habit has culminated in the creation of “5geezus,” a collection of 2,000 unique 1/1 images, each revealing hidden faces within everyday objects, structures, and nature. The phenomenon known as pareidolia has driven me to seek these quirky little creatures in the mundane, from buildings to trees. I’ve amassed over 4,000 such images, carefully selected down to 2,000.

Everyone I’ve shared these discoveries with has reciprocated by sending me their own findings. It has always struck me as a way to liberate friends from their devices, at least momentarily, as they wander and explore, fostering greater presence and observation in a world perpetually filled with distractions.

This project predates the emergence of Web3, yet the fusion of art and blockchain has materialized as a perfect union for digital collectibles. With Layer 2 solutions like Arbitrum, this concept can now thrive without imposing a heavy burden on the network or collectors with excessive gas fees. This aligns with my life and career rooted in the mountains and the imperative need to protect our natural world.

The primary objective here is simplicity and enjoyment, without extravagant frills. It’s an art project by a single artist, designed to be accessible via current blockchain technology. This wouldn’t be possible without the tools at our disposal today, including NiftyKit, Lens Protocol, the ORB app, and crossmint, alongside numerous devoted developers and teams working to create a more supportive internet for creators to thrive.

The essence of this community lies in gathering like-minded individuals who share a passion for broadening their perspectives, embracing travel, relishing delightful cuisine, cherishing an outdoor lifestyle, practicing positive mental health, celebrating art, film, culture, and all the elements that enable us to traverse this world while engaging with people from all walks of life, regardless of their origins. I’ll be sharing the wisdom I’ve gained on this life journey, including transformative places I’ve encountered and food recommendations that have left an indelible mark.

My hope is that one day, this token will unlock reduced-cost mindfulness services like therapy, yoga, meditation, and breathwork. That’s the “roadmap,” and I encourage all community members to contribute in their unique way to make each of us better-rounded individuals navigating this universe. Frequent contests will also keep the community engaged in exploring their world in search of 5geezus, with winners chosen by community vote within ORB and receiving new art, whether part of the collection or not.
