Job Description:

We’re in search of a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to become a part of our rapidly growing, globally distributed team, pioneering transformative changes in the Web3 landscape. Subspace Labs is an early-stage startup, backed by venture capital, and is at the forefront of a new category that combines AI and Web3 technologies. With the mainnet launch on the horizon early next year, the Subspace Network represents a groundbreaking, highly decentralized layer one blockchain. It operates on an innovative proof-of-archival storage (PoAS) consensus mechanism. Our project serves as the foundation for global collaboration between humans and AI, opening the door to a realm of new possibilities. As the Chief Marketing Officer at Subspace, your pivotal role involves spearheading global adoption of the Subspace Network, all the while overseeing our marketing, communications, and ecosystem efforts. Your success in this position will rely on your ability to balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in guiding, mentoring, and cultivating our marketing, communications, ecosystem, and partnerships teams, ensuring their synchronized efforts across our essential audiences and stakeholders.
  • Capitalize on data and user insights, employing strategic thinking to develop and enhance Subspace’s brand positioning. Implement and ensure the consistent execution of the marketing message.
  • Direct the execution of our established marketing plan, particularly with the imminent launch of the Subspace Network. Simultaneously, drive expansion and adoption for our principal end-user use-cases that bridge AI and Web3.
  • Innovate, strategize, and implement compelling go-to-market tactics and campaigns for new products and services. Guarantee successful product launches and sustained marketing campaigns.
  • Gauge, dissect, and report on the performance of marketing initiatives and campaigns. Employ data-driven insights to enhance performance and inform decision-making.
  • Oversee and harmonize communications throughout all marketing channels, guaranteeing the regular generation and distribution of relevant and substantial content. This content is aimed at captivating and educating our target audiences.
  • Facilitate coordinated endeavors to cultivate community growth among storage farmers and compute operators, nurturing a robust supply side of our network.
  • Investigate and institute crucial partnerships to foster the evolution of a thriving ecosystem within the Subspace Network.
  • Collaborate directly with our product and engineering teams to coordinate and implement marketing experiments with the introduction of new products and services.
  • Forge close collaboration with these teams to seamlessly integrate marketing into product development. Ensure that all marketing endeavors align closely with the overarching token economics and crypto-economic incentive mechanisms, thereby contributing to the growth of the Subspace Network.
  • Build and maintain pivotal relationships with media, podcast hosts, influencers, and industry analysts to secure coverage and amplify the visibility of Subspace and our spokespersons.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, animators, and illustrators to enrich and disseminate Subspace’s visual identity.
  • Oversee and maintain the content on the Subspace website, ensuring its constant relevance and adaptability to the market.
  • Represent the project at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand recognition and identify potential partnerships.
  • Manage marketing budgets effectively, allocate resources judiciously, and ensure a satisfactory return on investment from marketing expenditures.

Key Requirements:

  • A demonstrated history of at least five years in progressively advancing marketing positions, including overseeing teams, communities, and product launches.
  • A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in the Web3 industry, combined with a genuine enthusiasm for decentralized, peer-to-peer systems.
  • Previous involvement with an early-stage technology startup, preferably as an early team member or founder, with a preference for experience in the FinTech, RegTech, or Crypto sectors.
  • A creative thinker with a verified history of introducing inventive marketing campaigns and initiatives. Possess exceptional communication skills for effectively conveying intricate concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A hands-on, multitasking enthusiast who excels in taking full ownership of tasks. This individual is willing to personally dive into execution to complete the job.
  • Proficiency in working harmoniously with cross-functional teams, employing robust analytical skills to integrate data-driven insights into marketing decision-making.
  • Past experience in the AI/ML industry is beneficial, or a personal interest and substantial comprehension of the emerging market landscape in AI and Web3.
