The Mission:
We’re in search of a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our small, fully remote team. You’ll be instrumental in developing backend infrastructure for an exciting Multiplayer Action RPG title and our blockchain gaming platform, Openloot. In this capacity, you will take ownership of our DevOps infrastructure and lead a team focused on ensuring site reliability, scalability, and security. Our tech stack comprises Docker, AWS Elastic Container Service, Terraform, Node.js, Typescript, MongoDB, React, PostgreSQL, C++, and more. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the game and backend engineering teams to architect and maintain stable, dependable, and scalable infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to provide services that enhance the user experience for both the development team and our end-users.
- Design and establish operational infrastructure to support games and marketplace products at Big Time Studios.
- Champion a company-wide culture and architectural approach to security to safeguard our platform.
- Take charge of the delivery, scalability, and reliability of our backend infrastructure.
- Offer guidance and collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to ensure the creation of safe, secure, and reliable products.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in designing and implementing highly available and reliable systems.
- Demonstrated expertise with Linux, Docker, and cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Extensive experience in configuring and maintaining database infrastructure, including Postgres, Terraform, Redis, MongoDB, and DocumentDB.
- Willingness to be on-call during evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Exceptional communication and time management abilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in Game Development.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Proficiency in Typescript/Node.js.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Redis, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience with game server hosting.
