Responsibilities:
- Involvement in every facet of the development process for platform projects, from conception to final implementation.
- Designing novel platform features and creating corresponding APIs for external developers.
- Construction and upkeep of web services that align with the foundation’s mission, which includes enhancing network participation, facilitating lumen distribution, and emphasizing network stability.
- Identification of recurring developer requirements and devising new protocols and services to enhance developer productivity across the entire ecosystem.
- Engagement with our community of open source developers across projects that span various frameworks, languages, and concepts.
- Collaboration with the team on code reviews and design discussions, and contributing to the establishment of best practices within the SDF engineering domain.
- Investigation and optimization of performance bottlenecks to facilitate the continued scaling of our API services.
- Providing support and guidance for our integration initiatives with partners and other organizations operating on the Stellar network.
- Creation of detailed technical feature and protocol (RFC) specifications, underscoring our commitment to sound design practices and welcoming everyone to participate in our RFC processes.
Qualifications you possess:
- 5+ years of experience in collaborative software development.
- Proficiency in core computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
- Demonstrated experience in developing server applications in languages such as Go, Python, Rust, C#, Java, or C++, with versatility across multiple languages.
- Prior experience in managing large-scale web services.
- Strong communication skills, especially in advocating for and leading technical discussions during the design and code review stages.
- A solid grasp of software design patterns and the ability to construct reusable, extensible, and modular components.
- Knowledge of existing frameworks and open source tools, complemented by the readiness to build new frameworks when open solutions are unavailable.
- A fervor for performance debugging and benchmarking.
- Eagerness to be part of a dynamic, growing team with substantial autonomy.
Optional qualifications that earn you bonus points:
- Possession of a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
- A keen interest in blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies, alongside a deep understanding of their fundamental workings.
Our compensation package for this position offers competitive pay, with a base salary range of $165,000 – $215,000, contingent on your expertise, skills, experience, and location. Additionally, we provide lumen-denominated grants and an array of perks and benefits:
